Krupa Shukla, CEO of YUPS Tech Solutions India, is amongst the 3% of female founders in the male dominated Indian tech start-up scenario. She opened up to us about her decision to stick to a technical career and her continued journey towards achieving success in the same.
Her entrepreneurial skills ignited right from college, where she was extremely fascinated with science, the concept of research and robotics. YUPS, began as an idea formed in the college days, it is now a full-fledged company providing technical solutions to corporates and robotic workshops to schools. When asked about if she always wanted to be an entrepreneur she said, “I was very sure about sticking to my field. If not an entrepreneur, I would have been a professor, I was never keen on a 9 to 5 job that had me writing codes day in and day out.”
Most of her time is taken up by her venture, but she makes it a point to balance it out by giving time to her passion for reading and exploring different cultural philosophies. She believes that no matter how packed your schedule is, you need to make time for yourself just to keep the mind active. “I make it a point to be there for my family when they need me.” she stated about maintaining a work life balance in her busy schedule. “This is also because of the supportive team members, we make it a point to help each other out at all times.”
Krupa’s parents have always been supportive of her venture and stood by her side in all her decisions. She believes that today the society as a whole is progressive in many forefronts. They are accepting of the fact that women can choose to be independent. As in the earlier days, there is no age limit for women to achieve success, it is entirely up to them. But as a piece of advice for the ladies out there who do face these issues she says, “You need to be extremely determined in what you want to do. Present your ideas in the right manner and build the confidence in yourself that you can achieve your goals.” She further added, “It is very essential to be satisfied with yourself, no matter what you face. The one thing that will keep you going are your believes. It is very easy to get swayed by others opinions, but at the end of the day what matters the most is what you think of yourself. No one is going to understand you or your company the way you do, so trust your decisions and work relentlessly towards success.”
On being asked about any advice that she has for women contemplating donning the entrepreneurial hat, she says, “It is absolutely essential that you take practical decisions. Yes, dreams and passion is what drives you but you need to back them with well thought out and planned execution. Be absolutely prepared by having your research, skills and ideas in place, the outcome you want is bound to follow.”
We hope Krupa’s story inspires women to get into the technical fields and follow their dreams, becoming a part of the technical revolution we are witnessing today.
